Managua_ Russian Health Minister, Veronika Skvortsova, arrived in Nicaragua to inaugurate a production plant of vaccines, Managua’s government confirmed, the digital place of Radio Havana Cuba publishes.

Skvortsova explained that at the beginning the plant will produce vaccines against the influenza, but later on it will enlarge its production with immunosuppressive products for illnesses typical of the region, as dengue, zika or chikungunya.

Mechnikov plant, which will be inaugurated by President Daniel Ortega, was built with financing of the Russian Federation that contributed 14 million dollars, while Nicaragua dedicated seven million dollars for the same purpose.

The factory that is located in a modern building of nine floors built with high technology from Russia will begin to operate in 2017, with a production of 15 million of vaccines against the influenza that could be exported to several Latin American countries, the Government expects.

"The plant is built, all the lines are prepared and we will start the production of vaccines against the influenza, enough not only for Nicaragua, but also for the whole region", Skyortsova indicated when arriving to the Central American country.
