Bogotá_ The former Colombian president and secretary general of the Union of South American Nations (Unasur), Ernesto Samper, considered a mistake if the president of his country, Juan Manuel Santos, let pass this opportunity to achieve peace with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC).

According to CubaSí, Samper defended the content of Havana’s agreements and the negotiations between the Colombian government and the guerrillas.

He asked Santos to interpret the will of peace of Colombians and continue with the efforts to unite the arguments of those who voted no and bring them to the negotiations to see which ones can enrich or not the peace agreements.

"That, in my opinion should close the agreements and submit them to the countersignature of the Congress and the mechanisms originally agreed. It would be crazy to pass up these moments right now," the former president said.
