La Habana_ Caribbean news media highlights that after the massive tribute last night in Havana, the ashes of the iconic Cuban revolutionary, Fidel Castro, return on the steps of his victorious march of 1959, but now towards Santiago de Cuba, Prensa Latina publishes.

Following the triumph over Fulgencio Batista's dictatorship (1952-1958), Fidel and his Rebel Army toured Cuba in a Caravan of Victory from the eastern city of Santiago to Havana, stopping to address enthusiastic crowds, the Daily Express, from Trinidad and Tobago recalls.

The Trinitarian daily emphasizes that his ashes will return on those steps, but in reverse in a solemn procession of four days loaded of great symbolism until his final resting place in Santiago de Cuba.

Today, the Caravan will travel through fields and villages dramatically different from those for which it passed more than five decades ago, changed by the policies of social and economic advance, the newspaper adds.

In Kingston, the Jamaica Observer publishes in its digital edition that hundreds of thousands of habaneros lined up on both sides of the avenues where the convoy passed.

That media also underlines that Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness and former governor Portia Simpson-Miller, president of the National People's Party, the main force in the opposition, participated together with heads of state and government and high-level representatives of more than 60 countries in the massive tribute on Tuesday night.

The Daily Gleaner, another major Jamaican newspaper, describes that the ashes of the iconic revolutionary leader who gained world recognition were placed in a small cedar coffin covered by a Cuban flag and this one inside a glass urn surrounded by white roses in a trailer pulled by a military jeep. The convoy will travel more than 800 kilometers to Santiago de Cuba, where it will arrive next Saturday, and that day at night another massive act of homage is scheduled in which President Raúl Castro will summarize the nine days of tribute.

The burial mourners will be held on Sunday morning at the Santa Ifigenia cemetery, where the remains of the Apostle of Independence and National Hero, José Martí, also rest.
