London__ British Prime Minister Theresa May said US President Donald Trump will visit the United Kingdom despite the fact that more than a million people have signed a petition to cancel that future state visit, Radio Havana Cuba reports.

"An invitation was extended and it was accepted," May's office said in a statement, without specifying a specific date. The BBC quoted a government source as saying that any change would be a populist gesture to those calling for the visit to be canceled.

Prime Minister Theresa May met with Trump in Washington on Friday. She was the first foreign president to visit the new president of the United States. There, Trump accepted an invitation that May transmitted to him from Queen Elizabeth II of England to make an official visit to the United Kingdom this year.

"The misogyny and vulgarity of Donald Trump disqualifies him to be received by His Majesty the Queen or the Prince of Wales," notes the petition presented on a website of the British Government.

The petitions that bring together more than 100 thousand signatures should be discussed in Parliament.

Many British politicians support the request that Trump should be allowed to enter the UK as head of the US government but should not be invited to make an official state visit.

The UK criticized Trump for his executive order on Friday, which prohibited nationals of Yemen, Iran, Iraq, Somalia, Libya and Sudan from entering the country for three months and the Syrians indefinitely.
