Guatemala_ The people of Guatemala demanded the resignation of President Jimmy Morales, for the death of 35 girls in a fire in the state-run Virgen de la Asunción care center, Radio Reloj publishes.
During a rally around the Presidential House, the participants reiterated their conviction that the State was responsible for the tragedy.
Meanwhile, messages of solidarity from presidents Salvador Sánchez Serén, from El Salvador, and Daniel Ortega from Nicaragua, as well as the governments of Costa Rica and Brazil, came to Guatemala for the deaths of girls and for the rapid restoration of the survivors.
Members of the Network of Human Rights Defenders placed candles and messages of condolence in front of the Guatemalan embassy in Honduras.
