Caracas_ Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) and Trinidad and Tobago's National Group Gas (NGC) companies have signed an agreement with Dutch Shell to build a gas pipeline, Radio Habana Cuba reports.

"We have signed an agreement to supply gas to Trinidad with NGC and Shell, besides the construction of a gas pipeline between Venezuela and Trinidad," PDVSA’s president Eulogio del Pino said.

The pipeline, which will allow gas to be sent to the Caribbean island for domestic consumption, will go from the Dragon Field, north coast of Sucre (Venezuelan state), to Hibiscus in Trinidad and Tobago, according to Telesur.

They also plan to install a gas plant for the commercialization of this hydrocarbon in the international market.

The agreement was signed by the Minister of Petroleum, Nelson Martínez, the representative of the office of Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Stuart Young, the presidents of Pdvsa, Trinidad’s state-owned company and Shell, Eulogio del Pino, Gerry Brocks and Luis Prado, respectively.
