Sao Paulo, Brazil_  The ex-presidents Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva of Brazil and José Mujica of Uruguay urged the Latin American peoples to take up the path of progressivism and thus leave behind the advance of the right in the region, Radio Habana Cuba publishes.

From the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo, Mujica emphasized that a continental battle is currently being fought, from which one can only be victorious with the union, and indicated that Brazil plays a preponderant role in that struggle.

Mujica warned that the right seeks to reduce the progress achieved through the class struggle and stated that our struggle is not only for the oppressed is for the world to have no repressors.

Lula highlighted the offensive not only of the right but also of the extreme right and cited as examples the election of DonaldTrumpas president of the United States and the polarization that exists in the French elections.

The Brazilian ex-president, who reaffirmed his intention to run for the 2018 presidential elections, criticized President Michel Temer's de facto government's economic reforms that hurt workers.
