Beijing_ Chile's President Michelle Bachelet spoke with Prime Minister Li Keqiang and met again with her counterpart Xi Jinping to successfully seal her state visit to China, according to Prensa Latina.
After the signing of several agreements on Saturday and talks in economic and commercial fields, it was in the environment the will of the southern country and the Asian giant to take a new leap in its Free Trade Agreement.
With exchanges of more than US $ 31 billion and solid commitments expressed in high-level travel in both directions, Chile also strengthened its desire to actively participate in the La Franja and Ruta initiative.
"In times of growing skepticism about open economies, OBOR (One Belt, One Road) is an opportunity beyond the circumstances, to work together towards sustainable development," the dignitary said.
Bachelet pointed out that she sees in La Franja and La Ruta a key initiative in the connectivity process for the sustainable future, especially in the promotion of Regional Agreements and improvement in the Asia-Europe links, also with Latin America and the Caribbean.
She also said that OBOR is called to become the most relevant economic cooperation project on the planet, as evidenced by the high level of the meeting in this capital with a significant summons.
In this collaborative mix with China and within the OBOR event, she attends today the Forum Leaders Roundtable at the Yanqi Lake Conference Center, outside Beijing.
The topics to be discussed are the Synergies policies for the approach of the partners and the cooperation in the connectivity for an interconnected development.
The Chilean ex-ambassador in China Fernando Reyes Mata said that the world looks closely at the idea of OBOR for its potential to become a gateway into the digital era of communications in a higher range.
