China_ Beijing's first driverless subway line began circulating under probation to start paying service later this year, according to Radio Reloj.
The Asian nation's Railroad Electrification Group will offer service to the southwestern part of the city, and will be the first automatic metro line developed by that country.
The maximum speed will be 80 kilometers per hour, and the trains will have capacity to transport 1262 passengers.
According to Beijing's five-year plan for railway construction, the total length of the city's railways in operation will exceed 900 kilometers by 2020.
They also predict that for that year, 90 percent of the surface will have at least one subway station.
