Russia_ President Vladimir Putin signed a decree granting the Order of San Andrés to top Chinese leader Xi Jinping Radio Habana Cuba reports.

According to a statement issued by the Kremlin, the award was presented for his outstanding achievements in strengthening friendship and cooperation between the peoples of the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China.

The leader of the Asian country came to Moscow to meet with his Russian counterpart, who described the meeting as a major event in bilateral relations.
