Caracas_ The indigenous communities in Venezuela will elect their eight members to the National Constituent Assembly (ANC), which will be installed this week, Prensa Latina reports.

As established by the electoral bases, the deputies of the indigenous sector will be elected in assemblies that will be held simultaneously in the western, central and eastern regions of the country.

According to data from the National Electoral Council (CNE), Zulia state will host the meeting in the western region, where 14 candidates are nominated for 4 seats in the ANC.

In Monagas will be held the elections of the central zone, in which the aboriginal community will vote for three constituents from 33 candidates, the commission said.

On the other hand, in Amazonas only a representative of seven postulates will emerge, clarified the CNE.

Last Sunday, eight million 89,320 Venezuelans participated in the elections to elect 537 members of the National Constituent Assembly.

Tibisay Lucena, president of the CNE, reported that this figure represents 41.53 percent of the electoral roll.

Likewise, the 43 international companions who participated in the constitutional elections urged to respect the will of the people of Venezuela who expressed themselves in a massive way for their future.
