Caracas_  Venezuelan Attorney General Tarek William Saab confirmed today in this capital the beginning of investigations that had been denied by the Attorney General''s Office into crimes during the violent actions fostered by the opposition since April, Prensa Latina reports.

The investigation includes environmental damage, use of minors in the violent protests, crimes of hatred, assassinations and injuries during road blockages, asserted Saab in a press conference, accompanied by the Deputy Attorney General Katherine Harrington.

He specified that court-appointed investigators would probe into the 'aberrant' use of children in the violent protests, having into account three cases presented to the Ombudsman's Office by affected parents.

'The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) was the authority that expressed concern, issuing a communique on July 8, 2017, shame on this Attorney General's Office,' Saab regretted.

He also asserted that they would review the trials for charges of hatred crimes, committed by groups of individuals in the last 120 days against people, for their supposed or real political orientation, he stated.

The Attorney General announced that they would review the cases of wounded people and those that died, due to road blockages to prevent the right of free movement, in order to guarantee justice for all the victims.

He also announced the shaping up of a group for the reorganization the Attorney General's Office and as part of that task, superior attorneys were appointed in the states of Anzoategui, Carabobo, Miranda and Yaracuy, he explained.
