Luanda_ Angolans have begun today a calm influx of people to the polling stations during the fourth election since the country gained independence on November 11, 1975, Prensa Latina reports.
The majority of the 12 thousand 512 poll stations prepared in the country, opened at seven in the morning to receive the nine million 217 thousand 294 citizens over 18 years old, with the right to vote.Â
The electors will elect the third president in the history of the nation, the first not born in Luanda, the country’s capital, from six different parties.
They also have the opportunity to choose the vice president and 220 deputies to the National Assembly.
According to the electoral law in force since 2010, the polls will be opened until 19:30 local hour, although the last voters will enter at 18:00.
The first electoral results are expected to be announced by midnight.
