The bus station is the largest in the United States and the explosion triggered, according to the witnesses, scenes of panic during the peak hour. The New York police report that there is a detainee, supposedly from Bangladesh, and that at the moment he is the only one injured in the incident.
"A suspect is in custody. Besides that man, there are no injuries for now. Avoid the area, "the New York police tweeted.
The first versions indicate that he was carrying a homemade bomb that exploded on him. Other media indicate that there was a second arrest and that there are more injured. The police do not confirm yet the connection with a terrorist act.
