Havana_ The Ecuadorian chancellery confirmed today its willingness to maintain the state of protection over the Australian activist Julian Assange, who has been in the Quito embassy in London since 2012, Radio Habana Cuba reports.Â
The statement, issued through the Twitter account of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility, responds to comments in the networks about an alleged decision of the executive to withdraw this status to the founder of WikiLeaks.
Assange, whose web portal became known to the world after spreading thousands of classified documents, especially from the Washington administration, remains unable to leave the Ecuadorian offices, before the threats of the British authorities to apprehend him and extradite him to the United States.
