Paris_ The Unesco chapter of the Movement of Non-Aligned Countries (Mnoal) reaffirmed its support for the cause of Palestine following the decision of the United States to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, Prensa Latina reports.

According to a statement from diplomatic sources, at a meeting of the Mnoal held in the Parisian headquarters of Unesco, representatives of many countries expressed concern over the announcement of Washington to transfer its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, and reaffirmed their historic support and solidarity with the cause of Palestine.

The Cuban Ambassador to Unesco, Dulce Buergo, reiterated her country's rejection of the unilateral declaration made by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, in grave and flagrant violation of the UN Charter, International Law and relevant resolutions of the United Nations and ratified Havana's traditional position of solidarity and firm support for the cause of the Palestinian people

During the meeting, a communiqué from the Mnoal Coordination Bureau was approved, which rejects the violations committed by Israel against Palestine, including the violation of human rights and legal illegality, as determined by the Security Council of The United Nations.
