Havana_ The National Electoral Commission (CEN) of Cuba continues to perfect the details with a view to the general elections on the coming 11th, reports Prensa Latina.

During a contact with journalists, the vice-president of the entity, Tomás Amarán, commented that at this moment the number of schools is almost defined, which amount to 24,471. However, this is not a definitive number, as some territories still perform adjustments, he said.

In this opportunity some 143 special schools will be opened to enable the vote to those who, for different reasons, cannot do so in the constituency where they live, he said.

Amarán added that 92 electoral districts were also created in those municipalities whose population exceeds 100 thousand inhabitants. These instances, arranged with the aim of expediting the process, will work as if they were municipal electoral commissions.

On the other hand, he pointed out that the more than 188 thousand electoral authorities in the structures at all levels have participated in an extensive training process.

According to the vice-president of the CEN, this day concluded the update of the lists of voters and worked intensely in the preparation and printing of ballots, which are already in the different municipalities.

The official recalled that, as there are two kind of voting, there will be two types ballots, in the polling stations, one green for the case of the deputies to the National Assembly of Popular Power and another white for the delegates to the provincial assemblies. There will also be two urns duly identified.

Amarán also mentioned another difference with the vote for the delegates of each municipality held in November: on this occasion the voters can vote for one, several or all the candidates.

To foresee that the process will be carried out successfully on the 11th, the CEN will carry out a dynamic test next Sunday, during which the operation of all the aspects and resources contemplated in the national deployment will be verified.
