Havana_  A nanosciences workshop, focused on the applications of structures of this kind for the Cuban economy and society, raises interest today during the International Convention on Science, Technology and Innovation, taking place here until March 9, Granma newspaper publishes. 

The workshop will also address issues such as the synthesis, purification, characterization and operation of nanostructures, toxicity and safety in the use of this technology.

The program of the second day also includes the opening of the First International Cuban Science Symposium: creative women, aimed at exposing the role of this population sector in different spheres of the society and research.

Opened yesterday at the Conference Center in Havana, about 1,200 Cuban delegates and another 200 foreign colleagues from 39 countries are attending this event.

Under the slogan 'Innovation for Sustainable Development', the 15th International Information Congress and the 2nd International Conference on Energy, Innovation and Climate Change, among 10 parallel events, will take place during the convention.

The Convention on Science, Technology and Innovation is organized by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment and the Agency for Nuclear Energy and Advanced Technologies attached to that entity.
