Havana, Cuba_ A delegation from the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) is in Mexico to participate in several meetings organized by the Labor Party of that country and in the twenty-second edition of the International Seminar The Political Parties and a New Society, the Cuban News Agency (ACN) published. 

Jorge Arias, Deputy Head of the Department of International Relations of the Central Committee of the PCC and head of the delegation, reported that the Sixth Theoretical Bilateral Meeting between the Labor Party and the PCC will take place in the city for two days to deepen and analyze topics of mutual interest, as the current situation in Latin America and the Caribbean, the offensive of imperialism and the necessary unity among our peoples.

Afterwards, the traditional Seminar organized every year by the PT will be held, which is, after the Annual Meeting of the Sao Paulo Forum, the most important event that brings together the left parties of the region and other parts of the world, Arias said.

The Seminar includes among its themes: the media front as a central aspect of the contemporary political struggle, the economy of knowledge and the change of productive matrix in the alternative projects of the nation, the defense of Latin America and the Caribbean as a zone of peace and others.

The ACN added that the head of the Cuban delegation informed that a balance will also be made of the discussion of the Consensus of Our America document and the mechanisms for its dissemination.

The Cuban delegation consists of officials from various departments of the Central Committee of the Party, national leaders of the Union of Young Communists, the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution, the Federation of Cuban Women, the Organization of Solidarity with the Peoples of Africa, Asia and Latin America (OSPAAAL) and specialists from the Research Center of the World Economy (CIEM) and the Center for Hemispheric Studies and the United States of the University of Havana (CESEUH).
