Havana_ The General of the reserve and Minister of National Defense of Angola, Salviano de Jesús Sequeira, makes an official visit to Cuba, as a sign of the effective and historic relations between both nations, Radio Habana Cuba publishes.Â
As part of the program of the visit, Sequeira offered a tribute to Lieutenant General Antonio Maceo Grajales and his assistant captain Francisco Gómez Toro with an offering of flowers before the mausoleum in Havana.
The Angolan visitor was accompanied by Army Corps General Alvaro López Miera, first deputy minister and chief of the General Staff of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, who explained to Salviano de Jesús historical aspects of the independence actions of Antonio Maceo.
Salviano de Jesus Sequeira expressed satisfaction for his visit to Cuba and described the bilateral relations as excellent and recalled that the ties between Cuba and Angola were solidified with the participation of the people of the Caribbean nation, through their revolutionary armed forces, in the struggle for the independence of Angola, against Portuguese colonialism and South African invading military forces.
The Minister of National Defense of Angola carries extensive military responsibility functions with special missions in other nations and as member of governmental spheres of the Angolan state.
Jesús Sequeira will also visit historical and cultural institutions of the Caribbean nation.
