Havana, Cuba_ The Ninth Legislature of the National Assembly of People's Power will be constituted this April 19, at Havana’s Convention Center, the Cuban News Agency publishes.Â
The 605 deputies elected last month in the 168 municipalities of the country, provided with their respective certificates of election, will meet there in their own right, to take an oath and select the most capable among their members.
In this session, convened at 9 o'clock in the morning, they will elect those who will form the direction of the National Assembly and the Council of State, a body that has a President, a First Vice President, five Vice Presidents, a Secretary and 23 members.
The Council of State is the body of the National Assembly that represents it between one session and another and executes the agreements of this, it has a collegial character; its president is head of state and head of government.
