Havana_ The Secretary General of the United Nations, António Guterres, will open the 37th session of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) on Tuesday in Havana, Cuba, Prensa Latina reports.Â
According to the ECLAC press office in Santiago de Chile, Guterres will deliver the opening speech of the appointment of the UN agency, at the Havana Convention Center, in a ceremony that will also include the words of Alicia Bárcena, secretary executive of (ECLAC).
Luis Videgaray, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, a country that currently holds the presidency of the Commission, will be another of the personalities to attend the event, and the participation of a high-level Cuban leader is also expected.
The sessions, which coincide with the 70th anniversary of the founding of ECLAC, will take place from May 7 to 11.
The event will bring together representatives of the 46 member countries and 13 partners and the participation of more than 25 ministers, deputy ministers and other high authorities is expected.
