Havana, Cuba_ The links between education and the sustainable development is the main theme discussed today in the IX International Congress of Science’s Didactics, Prensa Latina reports.

The report entitled Proficient citizens in the intricacies of the 21st century', which analyzes the purposes and relevance of learning and evaluating sciences in compulsory education is among the most significant presentations of the day.

The interaction between Cuban schools and participants occupied a great part of the program yesterday.

The event offers several courses such as the one addressing the use of mobile devices for teaching physics to high school students.

Discussions centering on teaching and learning different sciences at an early age, such as computer science, chemistry, mathematics and biology, will be the focus of activities.

The meeting will be attended by specialists from Spain, Slovakia, Costa Rica, Peru, Venezuela, Ecuador, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Guatemala, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay and Angola.

UNESCO, the Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture and the Cuban Academy of Sciences are among the sponsors of the meeting.
