Havana, Cuba_ The president of the Councils of State and Ministers Miguel Díaz Canel Bermúdez toured places of socio-economic interest in Havana on Wednesday, as part of a two-day visit of the Council of Ministers to the Cuban capital.  

According to Radio Reloj, the day began at the Complejo Lácteo de La Habana, in the municipality of El Cotorro, whose director explained the investment process that is undertaken there and that allowed improving the electrical and refrigeration systems, replacing two steam boilers and remodeling the production line of soy yogurt.

The Cuban leader stressed the importance of this industry not returning to the state of deterioration in which it was and insisted on the high impact of dairy products for the population.

Accompanied by the first secretary of the Party in Havana, Mercedes López Acea, and the President of the government in that city, Reynaldo García Zapata, Diaz-Canel spoke with the workers of the center.

Housing and Sanitation

In another moment of the tour, the Cuban President visited the Revolución community, near the Expocuba fairground, where 145 homes were installed in facilities belonging to the Villena Revolución Polytechnic Institute.

During the tour, which was joined by the Minister of Construction, René Mesa Villafaña, Díaz-Canel appreciated the comfort of the apartments where they will soon live workers of the educational sector who are housed and other families with housing needs.

Later he visited the Provincial Hygiene Unit, where the director of Communal Services explained the effects of the equipment for the sanitation of the capital.

In this regard, the vice president of the Council of Ministers, Ricardo Cabrisas, commented that Communal Services has priority in the Economy Plan.

Council of Ministers Checks Centers of the Capital

The day continued in the pre-university Mártires de Porvenir, in 10 de  Octubre, where Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and the Education Minister Ena Elsa Velázquez Cobiella, visited classrooms and laboratories and exchanged with students and teachers about the study plans and exams of admission to the university.

In the “28 de Enero” rest home for older adults, in that municipality, the Cuban President learned about the constructive work that is being carried out to expand capacities and together with the Minister of Public Health, Roberto Morales Ojeda he inquired about the care that grandparents receive.

In a polyclinic of Lawton, the last point of the route, Díaz-Canel shared with the people who were waiting for him to ratify the support for the Cuban Revolution and the historical continuity that he represents.

There he became interested in the working conditions and acceptance of the different services that are offered.
