Havana_ The vice president of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Economy and Planning, Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, received this Thursday, the official delegation of the Kingdom of Spain, which participates in the XXII Session of the Cuba-Spain Business Committee, chaired by Mr. José Luis Kaiser Moreira, General Director of Trade and Investment of the Secretary of State of Commerce of that country, Granma newspaper reports.

During the same day, Cabrisas held a meeting with the Honorable Mr. Fernando Clavijo Batlle, President of the Government of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands, who makes an official visit to our country.

Spain is among the main trade partners of Cuba, ranking third in the world and the first in Europe and the European Union. At the end of April, the Trade with that nation exceeded 400 million dollars, for a 25 percent growth of the trade balance.

The celebration on the Island, of that event, is reaffirmed as a valuable instrument to support, keep and strengthen the economic relations between our two countries.

Mr. Kaiser Moreira was accompanied by Federico Ferrer Delso, commercial counselor of Spain in Cuba; Jaime García Legaz, president of the Spanish Section of the Bilateral Committee; Joaquín Gay de Montellá, vice president of the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations, and Inmaculada Riera, general director of the Chamber of Commerce.

On the Cuban side participated among other officials, Inalvis Bonachea González, Director of Commercial Policy with Europe of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, and Isaac Hernández Pérez, Director of the Central Bank of Cuba.

Fernando Clavijo Batlle will hold a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, with the objective of analyzing the potential for greater exchange in the areas of business and cooperation.
