Havana, Cuba_ After months of preparations, the IX Congress of the University Student Federation (FEU) began in the capital, with the participation of some 400 delegates, representing the 39 universities in the country, th Granma newspaper publishes.

With the arrival of the delegates from the rest of the provinces of the country to the Convention Center of Cojímar, in Havana, the celebration of the student event began in which the young people will propose and debate on the organic functioning, the integration of the universities, political-ideological work, teaching and research and the process of employment and work practice.

On this first day the university students will exchange with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, and of Economy and Planning; as well as Education and Higher Education, to address issues such as the economic situation of the country and other issues.

The appointment, which will run until next Sunday, July 8, will also be attended as guests of Honor by Army General Raul Castro Ruz, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC); Miguel Mario Díaz Canel Bermúdez, President of the Councils of State and of Ministers, and José Ramón Machado Ventura, Second Secretary of the PCC.
