Santiago de Cuba_ Just at 5: 12 am, the same time that a group of young people tried to take the sky by assault on July 26, 1953, the national cultural political act for the 65th anniversary of the assault on the barracks Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes began, chaired by Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC) and Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, President of the Councils of State and Ministers, as published by the Juventud Rebelde website.

The event was also attended by members of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Party, the Secretariat, the Councils of State and Ministers, along with other leaders of the Revolution, the armed institutions, and the mass and youth organizations. Also present is a representation of the people of Santiago de Cuba, assailants of the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Garrisons, expeditionaries of the Granma Yatch and the clandestine struggle.

An effervescence of people and authorities from Santiago fill up early in this morning the former Moncada barracks, where today is a school city, to commemorate this 65 anniversary of the assault that gave us the revolutionary spark on July 26.

With slogans of: Fidel, Fidel, the central act of this Day of National Rebellion began, in which the presence of the Historical Leader of the Revolution is constant.

With the poem Seguimos en combate, by Raúl Gómez García, the act had begun with a spirit of national fervor this anniversary of that morning in Santa Ana, which opted for a new Cuba.
