Santiago de Cuba_ The people of the city of Santiago de Cuba on behalf of all Cubans paid homage this Monday to the revolutionaries Frank País García, Raúl Pujol and all the Martyrs of the Cuban Revolution, Radio Reloj publishes.
The popular tribute took place in the Callejón del Muro, in the city of Santiago de Cuba where 60 years ago henchmen of the pro-imperialist tyranny of Fulgencio Batista murdered Frank País and Raúl Pujol, headed by the members of the Central Committee of the Cuban Communist Party, Lázaro Expósito Canto, first secretary of the Party in the province and Beatriz Jhonson, Vice President of the Council of State and president of the Provincial Assembly of People's Power.
In this new day of tribute, the people of Santiago demonstrate their unconditional support for the Revolution.
As traditional, at four in the afternoon today, thousands of people will retrace the steps of those who, 61 years ago, followed the coffins of both revolutionaries on streets in Santiago, in what became a massive expression of popular mourning and repudiation to the bloodthirsty dictatorial regime of Fulgencio Batista.
The pilgrimage will depart from the intersection of Heredia and Clarín, where Frank was veiled, and will arrive at the cemetery of Santa Ifigenia, right to the family pantheon that keeps the remains of who was described by Fidel Castro as "the most valuable, the most useful, and the most extraordinary of our fighters”.
