Cuba_ The people of Cienfuegos will pay homage to the martyrs of the popular armed uprising of civilians and sailors on September 5, 1957, Radio Reloj publishes.
Andrés GarcÃa Suárez, writer and local journalist, affirmed that the uprising marked a milestone in the revolutionary struggle against Batista’s dictatorship that emerged from the coup d'état of March 10, 1952.
In the context of the anniversary, various social works will be inaugurated in Cienfuegos and the events of September 5 will be remembered at Wilfredo Sacerio Peña Campesina, in Villuendas Park, in the city.
The program also includes the Fourth Encounter of Theory and Criticism of Art Rufo Caballero, the provincial act for the beginning of the school year in the elementary schools Fernando Cuestas Piloto and William Soler, both repaired and endowed with furniture and resources.
