Havana, Cuba_ Cuban President Raul Castro congratulated his counterpart of Vietnam, Tran Dai Quang, and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, on their recent election for these positions, Prensa Latina publishes.

In messages to the head of state and the prime minister of that nation, the president of the Cuban Councils of State and Ministers ratified the strong willingness to continue strengthening the historic ties of friendship and cooperation uniting the two parties, peoples and countries.

Tran Dai Quang and Nguyen Xuan Phuc assumed their respective positions during the 11th session of the 13th Legislature of the National Assembly that concluded this week.

On that occasion, some new top officials of Parliament and several government agencies, among others, were also appointed.

On December 2, Cuba and Vietnam marked the 55th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations.
