Santiago de Cuba_ El Cobre hotel will be inaugurated shortly in the locality of the same name, with 18 rooms in a first stage, the National News Agency publishes.

The delegate of the Ministry of Tourism (Mintur) in the eastern province, Marisol Rodríguez, informed the press that the installation, with a four-star category and located 500 meters from the Shrine of Our Lady of the Virgin of Charity, will have a restaurant , cafeteria and lobby bar, as well as safe deposit box, minibar and parking.

According to the authorities of the area, El Cobre will be ideal for cultural, social and nature tourism, in a hospitable and natural environment.

The delegate of the Mintur in Santiago de Cuba said that the second stage of the investment is scheduled for February 2019, and contemplates the execution of a swimming pool and other extra-hotel areas.

She stressed that the construction of an annexed housing block is planned by the end of next year, which will allow reaching 41 bedrooms.

The cultural landscape of this locality in Santiago de Cuba is National Monument of the Republic since 2013, and according to Rodríguez a file is being prepared with a view to be declared a World Heritage Site.
