Havana, Cuba_ In search of investors to help import raw materials for the manufacture of diapers in Cuba, the Italian-Cuban Company Industria Arthis S.A. has a stand at the XXXVI International Fair of Havana (FIHAV 2018).
Armando Quintero González, general director of the entity, reported that they aspire to find suppliers from different markets, in order to ensure the use of high quality inputs, as the requirements of LR Moroni SRL, the Italian partner, are high, according to information published by the Cuban News Agency.
This will be the first plant to produce and market rectangular diapers on the Island, since today in Cuba the products of this type that are offered are totally imported, Quintero González explained.
He clarified that the objective is to have competitive prices, but affordable to the majority of the population.
Four will be the production lines, two of them in the first moments to obtain fillings or rectangular inserts for children and adults, with super absorbent properties and adaptable to different external supports.
He commented that it is also expected to produce disposable diapers for both stages of life.
The conception of the factory is a long-term project in which the Cuban part Industrias Nexus S.A., majority shareholder, intends to assimilate the reinvestment process with the income from the first stage.
LR Moroni S.R.L. is in charge of the technology of the machinery to be used in the production process, and will supervise the quality of the hygienic-sanitary articles, but the final product will be Cuban, which already has its registered trademark.
The joint venture, created on November 1, 2017, will be located in the Mariel Special Development Zone (ZEDM), and is currently in the investor stage.
Arthis S.A. arises to meet the demands of a society in which demographic dynamics tend to population aging, and in which these high-need products do not meet the demand of the domestic market.
