Havana_ The second secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), José Ramón Machado Ventura, evaluates this December 3 the march of the sugar harvest in the western province of Matanzas, with emphasis on the attention to the cane, quality and the yields, Radio Habana Cuba publishes.

The party leader insisted on the need to produce more sugar for the Cuban economy, and to comply with the sowing of the grass that will guarantee future harvests. 

On the other hand, Diamela Bello, head of the analysis room of the 'Jesus Rabí' sugar mill, in campaign since last November 21, reported that during the so-called small harvest, production period before the end of December, the mill must produce about seven thousand tons of sugar, and in general during the period it is expected to achieve 34 thousand 800 tons.

In the province also the colossus Mario Muñoz, from the municipality of Los Arabos, is grinding and in the second half of this month it will be incorporated into the harvest 'Mexico' and 'René Fraga', sugar factories of the municipality of Colón that during the previous contest were the most laggards in the province of Matanzas.
