Havana, Cuba. - Four memorandums of understanding to strengthen cooperation in the energy sector, higher education, culture, the financial sector and professional services were signed this Thursday by Cuba and the United Kingdom.

Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla expressed satisfaction with the favorable development of the bilateral relations during a meeting with Philip Hammond, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom, who carries out an official visit to Havana.

Rodríguez Parrilla also acknowledged the significant progress with the European Union for the signing of an Agreement on Political Dialogue and Cooperation Agreement between Cuba and the European bloc and in this regard he welcomed the British contribution.

The chief diplomat of the United Kingdom said that the country is the second issuing of tourists to Cuba and that trade links between the two nations can further be improved.
