Havana_ The Cuban tourist sector is going for more in this 2019, year that began with a strong action in important events of the sector that are being carried out in the world, Prensa Latina publishes.

The contribution of that sector to the 'growth of the economy and the consolidation of Cuba as a destination for peace, health and safety', is highlighted by the Island's authorities as well as the forecast of overcoming five million international visitors.

The intense action started in January when a delegation from the largest of the Antilles participated at Fitur 2019 International Tourism Fair that took place in Madrid.

Tourism Minister Manuel Marrero referred in that occasion to a new generation of five-star luxury hotels in Havana and Varadero.

Marrero pointed out that 2018 was closed with 42 percent repetition, "it is a fairly high index that shows the loyalty of those who visit us."

There are many businesses at the moment, we are living an important moment in business with foreign investment in Cuba, there are several associated with golf courses, real estate, hotels, a large part of those businesses are with Spanish companies and businessmen, he said.

Cuba also showed its attractions in the 53rd edition of the ITB International Tourism Fair 2019, which took place from 6 to 10 March in Berlin, Germany.

The largest of the Antilles is a destination of choice for Germans for their safety, rich historical-cultural heritage, popular traditions and natural beauty; reasons to continue betting on a greater positioning of the Destination, said a press release released by the Cuban Ministry of Tourism (Mintur).

This nation exposes its natural beauties and its cultural heritage in the 26th edition of the International Tourism Fair MITT 2019, an event that takes place until March 14, in Moscow, Russia.

Pinar del Río, Havana, Varadero, Los Cayos, Trinidad / Cienfuegos and Holguín remain the most preferred Cuban destinations for Russian visitors, who continue to bet on sun and beach products, natural beauties and cultural heritage of this beautiful island.

Likewise, the Cuban travel industry exhibits its potentialities at the XXXI International Tourism Fair BTL 2019 in Lisbon, Portugal, which takes place until March 17 at its usual AIP-Feiras headquarters in the Portuguese capital.

The Portuguese market continues to be of great importance for Cuban tourism, reaching in 2018 a growth of 16.6 percent in its emission towards this Destination.

The Cuban authorities continue working to achieve a greater positioning of the Island in Portugal, as well as to diversify those products and modalities to be promoted in this market, such as diving, nautical, nature, routes and circuits, heritage cities, events and incentives, cultural and tourism health.

Within the framework of the aforementioned fairs, participants were invited to the 39th edition of the International Tourism Fair FitCuba 2019 (May 6 to 11), which will be invited to Spain, will be dedicated to the mode of events and incentives and its headquarters will be Havana, in the framework of the 500 Anniversary of the foundation of that city.
