Havana: New markets for wholesale sales destined to non-agricultural cooperatives (CNA) in the commerce and gastronomy sector will be opened before the end of this year, the Granma newspaper reports.

The measure is in line with the positive results achieved with Mercabal, the pioneer installation in such functions, inaugurated in the capital in March 2018, highlights the note.

According to the information, the conditions are created in Artemisa, Sancti Spíritus and Pinar del Río, territories that, together with Havana, account for the largest number of non-state management forms in the branch.

The commercial specialist of the Group of Wholesale Companies of Foodstuffs and Other Consumer Goods, Bárbara Mesa León,  belonging to the Ministry of Domestic Trade (Mincin), added that in the last two provinces were chosen Trinidad and Viñales squares, respectively, where more tenants reside and more sales are made.

The official of the entity, known by its abbreviated GA acronym, said that in Mercabal, according to the assurances agreed in contracts, they guarantee goods with discounts of 20% compared to retail prices such as soft drinks, rum, beer, wheat flour, salt, rice, varieties of beans, peas, sugar, pasta, jams, cigars, cigarettes and coffee. Also other products among which are those frozen.

The purpose is to continue with the elevation of the offers, as soon as the negotiations with national producers succeed, to incorporate other items, after they fulfill their state mandate, among them, tomato puree in larger format, cheese and mayonnaise, which today they acquire on the normal network.
