Havana_ Cuba is attending the Second Session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-2), being held in Kenya from today to May 27th, Radio Reloj publishes.

Elsa Rosa Pérez, Minister of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA) is leading the Cuban delegation attending the event, which is going to participate in high-level, round table discussions, under the title "Innovative partnerships for addressing environmental challenges in the implementation of the Samoa Pathway and the 2030 Agenda."

The UNEA-2 invitation to Cuba is in recognition of the work the country has done on sustainable development and the cooperation they offer to other small island states, specifically in the Caribbean.

At this meeting the Assembly will define the contribution of the Global Environment Program (UNEP) in Nairobi, in compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda adopted in 2015 at the UN General Assembly.
