Santiago de Cuba: The modern Biofertilizer Plant that is built in the province of Santiago de Cuba enters in its final phase, to begin production at the end of next September, according to Wilmer Guevara, delegate of Agriculture in the territory.
According to information of Cubadebate digital site, work is currently being carried out on the last three works of the 18 planned for the production of biopesticides, biofertilizers and biostimulants necessary in sugarcane and non-cane agriculture and agribusiness, to help ensure food security.
With its implementation and the manufacture of Gluticid (foliar antifungal, pest and disease controller), they hope to protect the next cold planting campaign in the country, while replacing imports, and as they move forward it will be a source of exports
Héctor La O, director of Derivatives of the cane in the sugar mill Dos RÃos, of the municipality of Palma Soriano, where the plant is located, said that the substances will be elaborated from be the derivatives of the grass by processes of submerged fermentation, recovery, purification , conservation, packaging and storage.
The equipment, coming from Spain and Italy, is in the process of assembly and testing, including fermenters, evaporators, dryers, packaging machines and others that list the main line, the immunological chemical laboratory and socio-administrative structure.
La O argued that as a strategy, partial tests are carried out to avoid delays whereby the electrical, wastewater and treated water systems, boilers, incinerator and air compressor are arranged.
Other structures include a warehouse, a bio product warehouse, a treatment system and a cooling tank, air handling outdoor units, honey tanks, fuel oil and treated water, a raw water cistern and a drinking water treatment plant.
The investor explained that there are eight products, including biological control to plants, with a general production capacity of 60 tons per week of one bio-fertilizer at a time, because it will work for the different campaigns.
In a first stage will be the bio-products Azospirillum inoculant bacterial atmospheric nitrogen fixer to apply as biofertilizer; Bioenraiz is the plant growth regulating hormone, and Gluticid, foliar antifungal for the control of pests and diseases.
The technology to create liquid and solid products, in addition to four fermentation volumes, from 15 to 15 thousand liters is among the potential.
Like that, there is a Plant in Quivican in the province of Mayabeque, but the technological complex of that of Santiago de Cuba is very modern, with less biological risk and an accentuated care of the environment.
