Havana: The Microphone and the 95th Anniversary Seal, two of the most important awards that prestige the radio in Cuba, were awarded this Tuesday, in Havana, to a group of filmmakers, artists, managers and technicians with a high sense of belonging and consecration, Radio Cubana publishes.

The ceremony was attended by the president of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC), Luis Morlote Rivas; the general secretary of the National Union of Culture Workers, Nereyda López Labrada; the vice president of the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television (ICRT), Mabel Manso, and the general director of the Cuban Radio, Onelio Castillo Corderí.

For the granting of the distinctions they created a commission integrated by Mirta Ramos Difurniao, President, and as members the National Radio Awards, Josefa Bracero Torres, Caridad Martínez González, Manuel Andrés Mazorra, César Arredondo Gutiérrez, Iván Pérez Ramírez and the Master of Radialists , José Medina Martín.

On this occasion, artists, journalists, technicians, cadres, actors from the Representation Agencies ACTUAR and Caricat were recognized, as well as technicians from the RadioCuba company. 

The Microphone is the highest recognition delivered by the Cuban Radio; conferred for the first time in 1992, it is received by colleagues with 25 years of outstanding career.

The honored this year were Pedro Rafael Martínez Arcos (Radio Rebelde presenter); Daniel Cristóbal Pereira Brito (Radio Reloj announcer); Lázaro Caballero Aranzola (Program Director, Radio Taíno); Rosa María Godoy de Armas (Journalist, Radio Progreso); Edgar Amílcar Morales García (Journalist, Radio Habana Cuba); Raúl Rodríguez Fernández (Journalist, Radio Habana Cuba); Lucrecia Rodríguez Carmona (Director of Radio Encyclopedia); Jorge Luis Pérez Jaime (Writer and Director of Programs, CMBF National Musical Radio); Otto Braña González (Director of Radio Taíno); Gladys González Zulueta (General Directorate of the Cuban Radio); Milagros Cherta Fernández (Director of Radio Ciudad de La Habana); Danay del Carmen Martínez Maturell (Programming Director of the Cuban Radio); Roberto Bruce Trujillo (Director and Specialist, Programming Directorate of Cuban Radio); Marialina Grau Espinosa (President of the Speaker Section of the UNEAC); Luis Morlote Rivas (Director, Director of Radio and TV Programs, President of UNEAC); Maricarmen Morera (Actress, RadioArte), and Leonor Cabal Fernández (Actress, ACTUAR Agency).

Meanwhile, the 95th Anniversary Anniversary Seal was deserved by several colleagues with 20 years of work and outstanding results in their work:

· Luis Rodríguez Ruballo, Radio Progreso Correspondent in Matanzas.

· Isis María Allen Fernández, Journalist of Radio Habana Cuba.

· Marianela Samper Salmonte, Journalist of Radio Habana Cuba.

· María Cecilia Hernández Díaz, Advisor and Director of Programs at Radio Cadena Habana.

· María Caridad del Monte Figueredo, Director, Radioarte.

· Yolanda Felicia Sierra Guerra, Writer of Radio Progreso.

· Gustavo Delfin Bécquer Martínez, Radio Encyclopedia Journalist.

· Pedro Abreu Mujica, Founder of the radio in Pinar del Río and currently Director of EXPOCUBA.

In the rest of the country similar tributes will take place to reward the consecration of many creators, who leave their mark on the programming of municipal and provincial stations.

On behalf of the honorees, the journalist Rosa María Godoy, of Radio Progreso, said that the medium marked the lives of those who today see their reason for living in radio magic.
