Havana: The National Road Center plans to place this year about 100 thousand tons of asphalt on the National Highway, as part of the country's strategy to prevent further deterioration of the roads and boost their repair, Radio Reloj publishes.

Raúl Díaz Guadarrama, general director of that entity attached to the Ministry of Transportation, said that so far the critical problems are in the sections of Cienfuegos and Mayabeque.

The maintenance and investments in the road network have as a priority those that guarantee the tourist development of the country, followed by others such as Mariel, the National and the Central Highways as well as Vía Blanca.

To this end, among the main objectives of the agency for 2020 is to increase the amount of asphalt destined for the Central Highway, differentiating the critical sections by accident risk.
