Havana: Cuba and Austria ratified the positive state of bilateral relations during the VIII inter-foreign political consultation session, Prensa Latina publishes.

According to the chancellery of the Island, the meeting took place the day before and was chaired by the interim general director of Bilateral Affairs, Armando Vergara and the representative for Bilateral Affairs, Common Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union and political leader of the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs of Austria, Alexander Marschik.

During the talks, both parts ratified the will to continue strengthening ties between the two countries and expand economic-commercial relations.

In addition, the parties stressed the importance of the cooperation in different sectors, especially in the cultural and judicial sphere, according to the website of Cubaminrex.

Previously, the Cuban Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anayansi Rodríguez, received the Austrian delegation in a friendly and pleasant environment.

At the meeting, they confirmed the willingness to continue contributing to strengthening bilateral relations in areas of common interest.

Alexander Marschik was accompanied by the Austrian ambassador to Cuba, Stefan Weidinger, as well as other officials of the diplomatic legation and the Americas direction of the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs of Austria.

Meanwhile, on the Cuban side participated the director of Europe and Canada of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, MINREX, Alba Soto, among other executives and officials of the Caribbean nation.
