Havana: "Cuba has been a victim for almost six decades of the blockade imposed by the United States, which constitutes the main obstacle to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda”, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla said.

During his speech at the high-level political forum, at the UN, on the Sustainable Development Goals, the Cuban diplomat said that with the coercive measures the White House intends to paralyze the economic development of the Island and cause hunger and discouragement in the population, the portal of the Cuban Radio reports.

Rodríguez Parrilla denounced the resurgence of the economic siege of Washington, to the point of pursuing, monitoring and imposing sanctions on companies that transport fuel to Cuba from different markets.

The Cuban Foreign Minister exchanged at the United Nations with representatives of various governments and personalities of politics, as part of his work agenda in the General Assembly.

The Caribbean official held a meeting with his Irish counterpart Simon Coveney; with former Spanish President José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, and with Miguel Moratinos, High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations.

He also met with Josep Borrell, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the European Union and Cooperation of Spain, and with his counterparts from Andorra, María Ubach; from Togo, Robert Dussey; and from Senegal, Amadou Ba; He also held a dialogue with the Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro, and the special envoy of the European Union for Venezuela, Enrique Iglesias.
