Cuba: The Cuban president, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, and his similar of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, confirmed today the strength of the political and economic commercial ties, in a meeting in the capital Palace of Independence, Prensa Latina publishes.
Lukashenko stressed that the history of relations between Belarus and Cuba has a very solid base and, he considered, both countries were lucky, because it was not necessary to create anything new, simply to continue with the fulfillment of the bilateral agreements.
The Belarusian head of state reaffirmed that Cuba has in this country a faithful and reliable friend, shortly after a ceremony, in which, together with Diaz-Canel, they greeted the delegations of the two nations and witnessed the parade of a platoon of ceremonies
Lukashenko referred to the transformations that have taken place in recent years on the Island and I wish many successes to the 'revolutionary and heroic Cuba'.
Cuba and Belarus do not have concurrent economies. You produce what we can acquire and we manufacture what you can buy, the statesman considered.
The Belarusian president recalled his meetings with the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, whom he always gives as an example of a great man, his meetings with the first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba, Raúl Castro, and now with his Cuban counterpart .
On his side, the president of Cuba thanked the congratulations sent by the Belarusian president, after being elected in that position, and considered that today's visit is a continuation of the one made by him three years ago as vice president of the Cuban State.
I keep fond memories of the previous visit, during which we were able to learn about the culture and history of the Belarusian people and the encounter with you, where you could feel the friendship between the two countries, the Cuban president said.
On the other hand, it is another opportunity to ratify our willingness to continue with the political and diplomatic dialogue, as well as to strengthen economic and commercial cooperation, the Cuban statesman stressed.
Díaz-Canel Bermúdez said that Belarus was one of the first countries he visited after his election as head of state and that speaks of the priority that Cuba gives to that relationship, he said.
The Cuban president said he was the bearer of a warm and cordial greeting from Raúl Castro to Lukashenko.
