Havana: The 37th edition of the Havana International Fair (FIHAV 2019) begins today at ExpoCuba, with the assistance of more than 55 countries and 360 Cuban entities, Prensa Latina publishes.

In addition to the numerous presence of Spanish businessmen, who traditionally hold supremacy in relation to other nations, there is an important representation of Italy and the participation for the first time of delegations from Angola and the United Arab Emirates.

In relation to the latter country, the presentation of the director of the International Office of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce in Brazil, Joao Paulo Paxiao, highlights the business opportunities for Cuban companies in that Arab region.

Within the scope of FIHAV 2019, it will be presented the Single Window of Foreign Trade, an initiative that will allow computerization and simplification of the procedures related to the country's imports and exports.

Also, and depending on the importance of attracting foreign capital to the country, the inauguration of the IV Investment Forum and the launch of the 2019-2020 Portfolio of Opportunities will take place on Wednesday.

The Mariel Special Development Zone (ZEDM) will also have its own space for exchanging with those attending the event where they will take advantage of the tax advantages allowed and the progress made in that enclave during the last months.

The presentation of the Commercial Directory of Cuba 2020-2021 is also expected to take place on the last day of the event on Friday 8.

The Fair is also inserted in the festivities for the 500th anniversary of the foundation of Havana (November 16) so the Cuban capital will have its own stand and on Tuesday, November 5 will be dedicated to it.

FIHAV, one of the most outstanding meetings of its kind in the region, will have on this occasion 14 official delegations, headed by ministers and senior officials and 15 national days of foreign representations will be held.

Although the fair takes place in the midst of the intensification of the economic, financial and commercial blockade of the United States against Cuba, the event will demonstrate the confidence of international entrepreneurs in the national market, the Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment previously entrusted Rodrigo Malmierca
