Havana: In the context of the Havana International Fair (FIHAV 2019), Cuba on Tuesday inaugurated an exhibition of national exportable goods, as part of the island's strategy to boost the economy, Prensa Latina publishes.

Under the motto 'Por Cuba Exportamos' (We export for Cuba), the exhibition is a space for the promotion of national goods among participants at the fair.

Cuban exports are currently focused on a group of products that represent almost 80 percent of revenues for that concept, explained the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Antonio Luis Carricarte.

Among them, he cited nickel, tobacco and rum, although he pointed to new items such as those derived from the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.

During the opening of the exhibition, the official referred to the government's recent approval of a strategy to diversify and boost exports.
