Havana, Cuba_ The Greater of the Antilles is in hydrological drought; although the recent precipitations benefited some areas, the situation continues, Radio Reloj publishes.

According to Jose Antonio Hernandez Alvarez, director of rational use of water at the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources, more important than the amount of rain, it is the place where it falls, as the fundamental to supply consumers is the recovery of watersheds and reservoirs.

Hernandez Alvarez argued that, therefore, the measures taken to save the precious liquid are kept.

"The provinces most benefited by the rains are Pinar del Rio, Havana and the special municipality of the Isle of Youth, and the less favored are Guantanamo, Santiago de Cuba and Cienfuegos" the executive said.
