Cuba: Currently, seven factories in six provinces are already processing cane in the 2019-2020 harvest, which seeks to produce more sugar despite the resurgence of the blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba, Cubasí reports.

According to the Azcuba Group, Boris Luis Santa Coloma, January 1, Siboney, Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, Enidio Díaz, Majibacoa, Cristino Naranjo and Urbano Noris are in operation.

These units belong to the provinces of Mayabeque, Ciego de Ávila, Camagüey, Granma, Las Tunas and Holguín, in the west, center and east of the country.

The province of Cienfuegos is expected to start operations this week, with three plants for this harvest.

This campaign aims to achieve greater efficiency than in the previous one, which presupposes high and stable grinds on each day, and the arrival in time and free of impurities of the raw material to the mills of the mills.

This sector, which was a locomotive of the economy for tens of years, is considered strategic for the productive transformation of the country.
