Havana, Cuba_ The National Secretariat of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR in Spanish) announced the collective and individual winners, of the 37 Premios del Barrio awards corresponding to this year, Cubasi publishes.
One of the awarded was Korimakao, artistic group based in Cienaga de Zapata, Matanzas, founded in August 13k 1992 and only of its kind in the country.
Irina Serra Podio, official of the organization, also said that in the individual plan, the Doctor in Sciences Jorge Berlanga Acosta, outstanding investigator and head of projects of the Center of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology was deserver of the prize.
The list includes the sportsman Yunidis Castle, triple champion Paralympic, Parapanamericana, and World Cup medalist, member of the Cuban Association of for Dissabled People, considered one of the Glories of the Cuban sport, well-known as the wind’s daughter of the wind.
Cesar Manuel Arredondo Gutiérrez, renowned announcer of the radio and the television who began his professional life bega in 1957, as well as professor José Manuel Ballester Santovenia who keeps an outstanding work since 1959 in the Ministry of Public Health, appear also in the relation of awarded
In total, 16 schools, 9 families and 3 projects of the nation, will receive the prize from this institution that since 1997 has already delivered 300 prizes to stimulate those who with their daily activity and example, demonstrate the unit of the Revolution and the accompaniment from CDR to its word.
In Sancti Spíritus, venue of the central act for the anniversary 63 of the Assaults to the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes Garrisons, next July 26th, stands out the family Santander-Alcántara, in the Area 75, CDR 4, as well as the school Clerencio López Carreiro, mainly for their environmental actions and blood donations.
