According to the Cuban Foreign Minister, during his stay in the Island, Couillard will keep talks with Ricardo Cabrisas, Cuban government's vice-president and minister of Economy and Planning, among other activities.

Since 2015, a series of visits of Quebec’s highest authorities have strengthened the links between both countries.
The Foreign Affair Minister and of the FrancofonÃa of Québec, Christine St-Pierre, pointed out the great potential of development of the bilateral relationships, particularly in the sectors of the investigation and innovation, the tourism, the bio industry of food, biotechnologies, the technologies of the information and the renewable energies.
