Havana, Cuba_ Cuban President Raul Castro paid tribute to late Colombian writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez in La Merced Cloister at the University of Cartagena, after the official ceremony of the signing of the Final Agreement for the Peace in Colombia, Radio Reloj publishes.

Raúl, along the delegation that accompanied him to Colombia, visited the place where lays Gabo’s remains and he observed a minute of silence before laying a floral wreath to the bronze bust that homages the writer of One Hundred Years of Solitude.

“While I was witnessing the ceremony I was thinking of him, ¨ Raul said, ¨therefore, before returning to Cuba, we wanted to pay this homage to him and to all that fell, on each side¨ Long live peace, he added-

Raul forwarded the Colombian people his respects and congratulations and wished them success on the future.
